2009 saw Ken Skitt, Captain at Penn Golf Club in Wolverhampton, choose Macmillan Cancer Support as one of his two charities of the year. This cumulated in amazing amounts raised for both charities with Sharon Battersby, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support receiving a cheque for a fantastic £2,548 on the 8 November as part of Ken’s final speech as Captain at the Club.

Ken said:

'We lost one of our fellow club members to cancer last year so the work and cause of Macmillan is particularly very close to our hearts at the moment so we were incredibly pleased to support the charity and raise money that will enable them to continue to do their good work in the area.'

Sharon Battersby, Fundraising Manager, said:

'On behalf of Macmillan I would like to say a massive thank you to Ken and all the members at the club who have helped raise such a great amount for Macmillan which we really do appreciate. Everyone at the club also made me feel extremely welcome for the presentation on Sunday and we wish the Club continued success with their ongoing fundraising for their next charity of the year.'
